I'm Sam — a security and network engineer who's designed and deployed infrastructure for over 30 businesses. I care about getting the details right.
I work at the intersection of network engineering and cybersecurity — two disciplines that work best when they're designed together from the start. Over the years I've had the chance to build infrastructure for more than 30 businesses, ranging from small offices to more complex multi-site environments.
I'm certified and actively working through further specialisations — it's pushed me to think about security more broadly, not just at the network layer but across architecture, governance, and risk.
Away from screens I'm usually outdoors — skiing when the season allows, or out with a drone hunting for an interesting shot. I also spend a fair bit of time gaming, which probably explains why I have strong opinions about latency and network quality.
I've designed and deployed over 30 business networks — each one different, each one with its own constraints, requirements, and politics. That volume of hands-on work has given me a practical depth that's hard to get any other way.
I shoot drone photography in my spare time — mostly landscapes and nature. Here are a few favourites.
I'm open to roles in security engineering, network engineering, and IT infrastructure. Happy to have a conversation even if you're not sure whether it's the right fit — I'd rather talk early than not at all.
I respond to every message personally. If you want to talk through a role, ask about a project, or just compare notes on UniFi gear — I'll get back to you.
